The Montgomery County Coin Club will meet Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 7:15 p.m. at the Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center, 1000 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring. Meetings are open to members and non-members alike.
The program will be a 20-minute ANA video on informative, interesting, and unusual exonumia exhibit items. The presentation comes from an award-winning ANA exhibit that was given a National Money Show Best of Show award and a World’s Fair of Money runner-up Howland Wood award. It also received the Rodger E. Hersey People’s Choice award. Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to identify items of the exhibit before the description and related narration. Those first correctly identifying an item will win a collectible U.S. type coin or collectible foreign coin.
In addition to the program, there will be a monthly auction consisting of a mix of U.S. and foreign coins, as well as other interesting numismatic items. Anyone in attendance may bid on the lots. Members will receive the auction list with their monthly bulletin. Non-members may bid on lots, but only members may submit items for auction. Searchable results for auctions from 2022 to the present are available on the website under the “Auctions” tab.
Since the January meeting was canceled, the auction will be the same as that scheduled for January. Silver prices have skyrocketed, so ignore any estimated melt values in the auction list.
As always, snacks will be available.
