TAKE 2: Our distinguished November speaker is Mary N. Lannin, chairperson of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Her presentation is titled: A Window on Seleucid Regional Mints – 3rd – 2nd Century BC and Die Re-use
. The CCAC directly advises the Secretary of the Treasury on the theme and design proposals on circulating and bullion coinage, and medals. Visit www.ccac.gov
to see just how important the CCAC is to our hobby and read some of the meeting transcripts to get a sense of the delicate and detailed nature of her job. She is a life member of the ANA and many other numismatic organizations, with a deep knowledge of ancient coinage. (This time we should be able to get the technology together for Mary to give her presentation)
This meeting would be a great opportunity for you to bring in the numismatic items you want to include in our annual Donated Auction. If you have items that you wish to donate to the auction please contact auction coordinator Jack Schadegg. Cash contributions may be given to Treasurer Simcha Kuritzky.
Meetings are held at the Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. Please see our Meetings for more information and directions.
Doors will open at 7:00 PM and the meeting will start at 7:15 PM SHARP!
