After the United States stopped redeeming silver certificates for silver dollars in 1964 it found that it had nearly three million uncirculated silver dollars minted in Carson City. The coins were sold to the public between 1972 and 1974 and then again in 1980. Joe Tokarcik will exhibit 1880-85 Carson City silver dollars from the sales and discuss the coins, their discovery and sales, and tell some interesting stories about how he acquired his coins.
